In a slow return to blogging, I am going to start archiving old projects of mine on this blog. Some of these have been published elsewhere, but some of them remain unpublished. These projects include lesson plans (some for the DWRL, some not), blog posts from previous blogs, or other presentations and projects that I may not have gotten to give. We are starting off with a recap of a DWRL Lesson Plan that had a tutorial but I do not believe went to publication on the website on Visualizing the News as A Timeline. This lesson plan intended to be an introduction to data mining archives and data visualization using Overviewdocs and Raw Graphs for non-technologically familiar audiences in the classroom. Although Overviewdocs no longer exists, as this is a spin-off of my now deleted Flash Fellowship project from that year, I still wish to archive the lesson plan as 1) the section on visualization may be applicable to other open-source software and 2) it is a record of that project.
